Welcome to my new blog:

My Quest for Fractal Satisfaction !!!!

I have been interested in fractal art since I saw some of the amazing artwork on Fine Art America http://fineartamerica.com/profiles/terry-weaver.html.  I understand that fractals are basically about making math beautiful.  So I went in search of a program that could help me make my own fractal art.  Mostly I work on a MAC, but I do have a Windows computer on which I like to bounce around.

My first step was to google "fractal art" and see what items presented themselves.  There are several free fractal programs for Windows, but I couldn't seem to locate any for MAC.

I tried Apophysis http://www.apophysis.org/downloads.html and Sterling 2 http://soler7.com/Fractals/Sterling2.html for Windows.  I am also trying out a 30 day trial version of UltraFractal http://www.ultrafractal.com/download/ for the MAC.

In the days ahead I will post my progress and pictures from each program in hopes of helping others searching for FRACTAL SATISFACTION :)
